Mate is an award-winning organic olive farm in Istria, founded by Mate, Croatian, with a long working experience in Tuscany.

At age 75, Mate planted his first olive tree in his beloved Istria and built his mill overlooking the Adriatic sea. Every year since then, they carefully hand-pick olives and mill them immediately. The olive farm is today run by Aleksandra.
Mate's olive grove is located in a privileged geographical position, making it easier to make world-class extra virgin olive oils. The Adriatic sea is only a few hundred metres away, which guarantees a mild climate during the winter months, and the salty sea breeze enhances the oil flavours.
Last year Mate produced 22,400 litres of extraordinary olive oil from three different varieties - Frantoio, Leccino and Pendolino. This year their oil Timbriano Istriano was awarded 98 points by Flos Olei and Marina Transparenza a year before that.
