  • What is your inspiration to start a MARQT.NO?

    MARQT.NO is founded by a very passionate food, health and environment enthusiast. Her travels all around the world introduced her to many different foods and products, witnessing natural production becoming rare and luxury. At the same time, people are eager more than ever to find high-quality products made with care and integrity. 

    In Norway, we felt a lack of high-quality products that come from small farmers and boutique producers. As passionate about healthy food, the Mediterranean diet is an obvious choice for us as a family, gathering and sharing the best of products at an acceptable price and conveniently delivered to your door is our mission.

  • What is so special about MARQT.NO?

    We pride ourselves on sourcing only the best products with high-quality ingredients from carefully selected partners.

    We don’t re-label products, we rather want to serve as a market platform for various independent producers and be their ambassadors here in Norway. 

    We have also created special travel journey experiences that will allow you to trace every product back to its producer and experience it on its own soil.

  • When did you launch your company?

    We launched MARQT.NO in Norway in spring 2020. Our Croatian sister company Bom Dia Travel focusing on travel experiences was founded in 2014.

  • Why to shop at MARQT.NO?

    You’ll get unique Mediterranean products that are as sustainable and healthy as possible for both individuals and the planet. In our store, you will only find products we've personally vetted. 

    Unfortunately, the global food production system based on intensive agriculture relies on synthetic pesticides and fertilizers to produce highly processed food packed with additives, preservatives, sugars and saturated fats. Industrial food is creating an imbalance in many spheres, especially in our environment as well as generating many health problems.

    Good news is that eating can be both healthy and enjoyable at the same time. We don't need to invent anything new, start with reading labels, check the food's origin and what it contains. We made it easy for you; products from Marqt.no will always be easy to trace and you can even visit most of our farms.

    Opening an account with us is easy. Click the Login link at the top of all pages. If you have an account before, you also log in here. Please note that all information you enter will be treated confidentially. We will never sell information to third parties.

  • Can I get on your newsletter list?


    Absolutely. We will reward you with a 10% off for signing up and follow up with other specials and discounts.

    You do not need to create an account to receive our newsletters. You can subscribe to our newsletter at the bottom of every page under the ‘Contact Us’ section. 

    Remember that you can unsubscribe at any time by clicking "Unsubscribe" found in the newsletter.
     

  • When can I reach customer service?

    Contact us by email, phone or chat.

    Our working hours are Monday - Friday, 9 am – 4 pm. 

    We do check-in outside of those hours as well and will try our best to reply to all messages or emails sent. We might not check all of them (on weekends), so please forgive us. We are still growing and looking for staff and resources.

    Every producer we support, we know personally, and their products are with a soul.

    Yes, we do also offer organic, vegan, halal and raw products from certified suppliers.

    We like to say that we offer the best products both from organic and non-organic trusted sources.

    Fresh, high-quality extra virgin olive oil is one of the world's healthiest foods. 
    Extra virgin olive oils crafted with care are packed with antioxidants and phenolic compounds are proven to help reduce and prevent diseases. The best olive oils are blow-your-mind delicious, and they elevate the tastes of  foods in ways you  never imagined.

  • Why Mediterranean diet include a large amount of olive oils?

    Olive oil is the primary source of fat in the Mediterranean diet for thousands for years. Its healthy effects can be attributed to the great relationship between unsaturated and saturated fatty acids, as well as the antioxidant property of its phenolic compounds. 

    Olive oil is a source of at least 30 phenolic compounds. The main phenolic compounds are hydroxytyrosol and oleuropein. They give extra virgin olive oil its bitter and pungent test, but also act as powerful antioxidants and free radical scavengers.

    Mediterranean diet has been associated with lower incidences of diabetes and some cancers and with maintaining a healthy weight, according to Harvard School of Public Health.

  • Are there any vitamins in olive oil?

    Olive oil is rich in vitamins, fat-soluble vitamins - A, D, E and K. Vitamin A is most important for the physiology of our vision, protecting the skin and mucous membranes from various infections and infectious diseases. It also has a beneficial effect on the heart and circulatory system. 

    It's also worth mentioning that olive oil contains the same substance as ibuprofen - oleocanthal. This bitterness-related substance has an anti-inflammatory effect, which is why good olive oil should also be bitter as it guarantees its healing and protective effects on the body.

  • What are polyphenols?

    Polyphenols are a key component to extra virgin olive oil and are considered to be one of the best health benefits within the oil. Polyphenols furnish the immune system, protect us from heart diseases and display anticancer activity as they act as free radicals traps.

  • How high are polyphenols proportions in Croatian vs other EU olive oils?

    As much as 97% of Croatian oils have a high proportion of polyphenols with an average share of 655 mg/kg, of the minimum 250 mg/kg prescribed by the EU. 

    Spain has 95% of the oils that meet this requirement, and their average phenol content is lower - 521 mg/kg. Greek oils are at about 70%, Cypriot at 60%, and Italian at 55%, with their average phenol content significantly lower. 

    Aristoil, an EU-funded Interreg MED project, did the research that has been trying to boost the competitiveness of the Mediterranean olive oil sector by providing innovative methods to identify the “healthiest” part of it.

  • What makes a good olive oil?

    Let's start with three things every extra virgin olive oil needs to have.

    • Fruitiness 

    Every good olive oil needs to have the aroma of fresh fruit. Olives are fruits, after all. The oil should smell fresh and fruity.

    • Bitterness 

    Olives are mighty bitter straight off the tree. So any fresh, high-quality olive oil must be bitter, which we perceive on the tongue.

    • Pungency

    Pungency is that cough-inducing sting on the throat that's caused by the healthy phenolic compounds in fresh, high-quality olive oil.

  • Unlike wine, why does olive oil NOT improve with time?

    As olive oil gets older, it gradually breaks down, the acidity level rises, and flavour weakens. Old olive oil will taste rancid and lose its beneficial components. 

    We recommend buying olive oil bottled in small quantities, 0.5 l. Store your olive oil away from heat and sunlight.

    With your gift, we include a packing slip, so the recipient knows who it is from. We also hide prices on the packing slip. 
     

  • I need more of a certain item than the quantity available. What should I do?

  • You are out of a product. When will you be restocking?

    We try to re-stock as soon as possible. You can add your email to the waitlist to be notified if your products become available. 

    The waitlist feature is available on the product page on each item. Inventory is only available on a first-come-first-serve basis. If by the time you visit the site and inventory is unavailable, please add yourself back to the list.
     

  • The colour looks slightly different than in pictures.

    Please note: 

    • Some colours may vary, depending upon your computer monitor.
    • Handmade products: Since every piece is handcrafted, slight differences in drawing, colour and form may appear. That's the charm of handmade!
  • Product pricing

    All prices are in Norwegian kroner. The total cost of the purchase will appear before ordering and includes all expenses associated with the purchase.

    We reserve the right to make any printing errors regarding price and information on goods in our online store.

  • Do you offer Mediterranean products not listed on your site?

    We are always exploring new products that are sustainably-sourced and tasty, so if you have individual wishes, we are happy to listen and help!

  • I entered my shipping address incorrectly. What should I do?

    No worries.

    Just send in your order number and correct shipping address to the team here, and we'll update your information right away.

  • What are my delivery options?

    Get the goods delivered the way you want. 

    • We deliver with Bring. Your parcel will be handed out at your closest Posten pick-up-point.
    • We also do same or next day doorstep delivery in Oslo, Bergen, Stavanger and Trondheim with our partner Porterbuddy. 
  • Is there a minimum purchase amount?

    We have no minimum amount when ordering.

  • Can I place my order over the phone?

    No sorry, we are unable to place orders over the phone. All orders must be placed through our website. 

    However, we are available via phone, Facebook Messenger, or email to assist you with the purchasing process.

  • Is there a delivery rate?

    • Please check all delivery fees here.

    • Free shipping available for all orders above 500,- NOK. Offer valid until September 30th.
       

  • Where do you deliver?

    So far we have never seen an address in Norway that frightened us, we deliver all over Norway.
     

  • Where do you ship from?

    All our goods are shipped from Oslo.

  • Do you ship internationally?

    No sorry, not at the moment.

  • How long does it take for goods to be delivered?

    With our partner Porterbuddy, we offer same day or next day delivery at your doorstep in Oslo, Stavanger, Bergen and Trondheim. 

    Depending on your location, standard shipping time is usually 1–3 business days.

    The package can be delivered all over the country, including Svalbard.
     

  • How can I track my package?

    After your product has been packed and shipped, you will receive a shipment confirmation email.

    It will contain all the information about your order, including the tracking number and the shipment status.

    If you have not received the shipment confirmation email, please check your spam folder.
     

  • Receiving a package. 

    We (or our delivery partner) will notify you that the package has arrived by SMS or e-mail.

    If you are not present at the time of delivery, the respective logistics partner will leave a message.
     

  • What should I do if I never received my order?

    Please first check the delivery address you sent us. Then get in touch with us. We will gladly assist you.

  • I need items now! How do I get them?

    Feel free to contact us on hey@marqt.no for information on how to get your items immediately. Or give us a call! 

  • Uncollected packages

    Packages located at the delivery point more than 10 calendar days from the return of the shipment are returned. 

    If you fail to collect your package, you will be charged a handling fee of NOK 99, - before the remaining order amount is transferred to your account. 

    For orders under 100 NOK, you will therefore not receive the money you paid if you do not pick up your package.
     

  • Can you split my order between two different addresses?

    We can only ship to one address per order. As a workaround, you could look at creating separate orders with different shipping addresses.
     

  • PAYMENTS, EXCHANGES, CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS

  • What are the payment options?

    We accept the following payment methods: VIPPS and PayPal.
     

  • Are my payment and personal details/data secure?

    We don’t store your credit and debit card information on our servers. All processed personal data is in accordance with the Personal Data Act. 

    Information that can be linked to you as a person will never be made available to other businesses or linked to other external registries.
     

     

  • What is your general cancellation policy?

    You can cancel your order before your products have been sent. E-mail us immediately.

    Special conditions apply for personalized items. Please read the FAQ below.
     

     

  • What is your return policy for food items?

    We sell foods that can be impaired by temperature fluctuations or incorrect storage. Therefore, unfortunately, we cannot offer any kind of exchange or return of food-goods after they have been purchased from us. 

    Items with proven defects or deficiencies can still be exchanged for proof of receipt. 

    You are responsible for the risk and cost of returning to us. Send the item in original packaging well packaged. Remember to enclose proof of purchase in addition to the completed withdrawal form. You will receive a return form by email along with the order confirmation. Undo forms can also be printed here or at the bottom of our website. 

    Upon return, thank you for informing hey@marqt.no that a package has been sent in return.
     

  • What is your cancellation policy for personalized items?

    If you have to cancel an order, please do so within 1 hour of placing the order. After that period, please note that we are not able to accept cancellations or changes to personalized orders such as engraving your name or personal message on homeware products or writing in a greeting card on your behalf.  Once personalized items are placed, they are immediately sent into production. 
     

  • What is your return policy for other non-food items? 

    Under the Angrefristloven you as a consumer have the right to cancel your purchase within 14 days of receiving non-food related goods. The right of withdrawal applies if the item and the original packaging are in an unaltered condition when returned. Please make sure that the original product tag and packing is intact. The refund is typically issued within 14 days of receiving and verifying your return. You are responsible for the risk and cost of returning to us. Send the item in original packaging well packaged. Remember to enclose proof of purchase in addition to the completed withdrawal form. You will receive a cancellation form by email along with the order confirmation. Undo forms can also be printed here or at the bottom of our website.

  • How do I request a refund?

    After the product has been cancelled or returned, then the money would be refunded to you within a few days.

  • My product arrived damaged. What do I do now?

    Oh, so sad to hear that! Contact us and we will sort it out in no time.  

    We will personally ensure that a brand-new replacement is issued to you with no additional cost. 

    All damages, deteriorated quality or broken packaging should be reported to us immediately on the same day after you’ve received the product, the product will not be eligible for a replacement if we are notified after a long period except a genuine case. 
     

  • How do coupon codes work?

    Occasionally, we will have special offers that give you even greater deals on our products. Once you have received a code, you can use it in the online store. When checking out of the store, enter the code in the box for this. The discount you received will be deducted from the amount you trade for.
